Q and A on Metro Indoor Training

Q and A about Indoor Metro Winter Training

Q: Why has the club decided to increase training to 2 times weekly?

A: The club decided to align ourselves with most of the larger clubs who offer winter training twice a week from November to April. We did our research and found that most clubs have their metro players playing year round to continue to build skills. Clubs who offer their players more opportunity to training indoors have seen good outcomes in the competitive metro season.

Q: Does my child need to attend twice a week?

A: We know we have many multiple sport athletes- with two training sessions available throughout the week, we hope it’s flexible for you to attend whenever you are not enjoying your other sports!

You will be added to a training group app, so you can easily rsvp your attendance to coaches.

We don’t want to add stress to our players and parents, but we do want to offer our players opportunities for touches on the ball and continued development throughout the winter months.

Q: How does the fee structure work?

A:  We designed our winter fees to be very cost effective. We are offering low winter rates for our training. In fact, our fees are less than some other clubs who only train once weekly.

For players who choose to commit to indoor metro training, they pay $330 (u7-u9 ages) and in the spring your fees will only be $270 for the full yearly rate of $600. The indoor players will also receive 2 week advance registration to secure team spots for the metro season. Players who wait and join in the spring are taken on a first come, first serve basis pending numbers needed for teams.

Players who join in the spring only will need to pay $400 as they will need to pay the insurance fees, equipment fees, admin costs for the annual basis that were not paid for the winter term.

If you look at cost for the program, our indoor u7-u9 players are only paying $200 for the winter training portion.

For u11-u13 metro players the fees are similar. For indoor metro you pay $370 for indoor and only $300 in the spring for the metro season. The total annual fee is $670. For players who join in the spring they pay $450.

In terms of indoor fees, families are only paying $220 to train for the winter months.

The reason why we can keep the winter fees low is because there are one time fees to be paid yearly for things like insurance, equipment, and admin fees. If you pay these in the winter training, you do not need to pay them again in the spring.

Q: Will there be any tournaments in the winter?

A: yes, there is a U11 Christmas tournament run by the NLSA and we are hoping to enter teams. We are hoping there will be other indoor tournaments as well for other age groups.

Q: some age groups have multiple time slots, can I choose my slot?

A: All players for U11 will be evaluated and placed in groups - these are based on skill. As players are tiered in u11, we cannot accommodate player requests.

Q: will the tentative schedule change?

A: we want to offer our players as much flexibility and accommodation as we possibly can. Once all players are registered, we will consult with coaches and families to see if they would like to request changes to their times. We anticipate having some flexibility to offer to groups.

Q: when does training start?

A: u11 evaluations will be Oct 14/15. We would ask that all u11 players please sign up as soon as possible.

Q: is there a deadline to register?

A: yes, we are kindly asking players to register by October 25. Programs start October 28.

We hope this answers most of your recent questions, please email us at neuscsoccer@outlook.com if you have any unanswered questions.

We are excited to welcome all our players back to winter training as well as our new players!
